Established in 1980, Po Wing Hong Food Market began as a modest store located on Hester Street in the heart of New York City’s Chinatown. Reflecting the owners’ Hong Kong origins, our store offers many products common in Cantonese cuisine. As people from the Guangdong region of China are known for cooking daily nourishing and restorative soups, our store maintains a wide range of quality herbs and soup ingredients.

Over the years, Po Wing Hong has become known not only for our authentic products, fair prices and wide selection, but also for our core values: quality, honesty, and product knowledge. This holds especially true with our unique selection of Chinese delicacies and health foods.

Our Brooklyn-based wholesale and distribution division, Po Wing Trading, is able to deliver goods to retailers and restaurants throughout the tri-state area with our fleet of trucks and vans. Reaching beyond the NY metro area, we have built up decades of experience trading both domestically and overseas with our partners in the Caribbean, South America, Africa, and Europe.
